Rubrik Releases the Converged Data Management Pack

Credited with pioneering the original Converged Data Management platform, Rubrik is certainly no stranger to the latest in information technology. Meant to integrate data protection capability, instant recovery options and development operations into a single service, the popular platform has recently been upgraded to version 2.0. As such, users of Rubrik’s Converged Data Management platform will be able to enjoy advanced recovery and troubleshooting options as well as a number of additional features.

Bipul Sinha, CEO and co-founder of Rubrik, spoke about some of the company’s solutions as well as their contributions to the industry by saying: “Rubrik continues to deliver innovative products at record pace, transforming how companies approach data protection and recovery at scale. Enterprises are saddled with siloed, multi-tiered legacy solutions that are complex to manage and unable to leverage modern technology services, such as the public cloud,” said co-founder and CEO Bipul Sinha. “We built the industry’s first Converged Data Management platform to deliver instant data access across private and public clouds via a single, scale-out software fabric.”

Rubrik Converged Data Management 2.0

With their latest update, which was delivered to consumers in August of 2015, Rubrik’s Converged Data Management platform is able to better accommodate the needs of their customers. The primary features of Rubrik Converged Data Management 2.0 are outlined below.

For starters, the unlimited, non-disruptive replication features asynchronous and deduplicated native replication. This process has also been optimized for implementation through WAN environments.

Secondly, users of Rubrik’s Converged Data Management 2.0 will benefit from its improved policy controls. A built-in policy engine offers governance of off-site data replication, cloud-based archival and data retention times, thereby giving IT administrators the opportunity to customize the software in order to meet their exact backup needs.

The data recovery features of the new Converged Data Management platform provide failover support from multiple sites as well as near-zero recovery times, and customer data can be mounted directly to Rubrik as a means of facilitating off-site data recovery.

Finally, thanks to the integrated compliance and reporting protocol, enterprises are able to keep up with industry regulations. Moreover, instant notifications are displayed to IT administrators in the event of a problem or issue, thereby giving them the chance to troubleshoot and repair the system as needed.

Soumitra Ghosh, vice president of Infrastructure and Data Services with Driscoll’s, a user of Rubrik’s Converged Data Management Platform, praised the solution by saying: “Our distribution centers are all over the world and operate 24x7. With Rubrik, we significantly improved recovery point objectives and can now recover individual files within minutes, helping us with our goals.”
